Remember the Biblical story where Solomon had to determine the real mother of a 'cute' baby, well, it has happened again...and it's here in Naija...in Imo state to be precise....in a more 'complicated' manner.
The Imo State police command is currently battling to ascertain the real
parents of a 'baby stolen' from Onitsha in 2010 as two families are
laying claim to the same baby. Hehehe#
The baby in question, Emmanuel Chimaobi Adinna Okoro, was born on 9th August
2010, and was allegedly stolen from his parents who reside at Awada-Obosi, Onitsha in Anambra State by his 'fake'
aunt (when he was 18months old).
His supposed parents Mr. and Mrs Chinedu Okoro, immediately reported the case to the Awada
police station and the police began the search for the stolen baby.
The suspect, Ngozi Okeke, was soon arrested and caught while trying to steal more babies.
On learning of the arrest, Emmanuel's family
approached the police with their 'careless' maid from whom the little baby
was stolen and identified the fake Aunty.
"Oya now, give us our baby, the fake aunty has been caught" the parents cried out but the Imo State police command said "No way... another woman says the baby is hers " Gbangaun#
The baby is presently in the custody of the social
welfare officer in the Imo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social
Development.
Though, the fake Aunty, according to Vanguard newspaper, has confessed to the police that the stolen
child, belongs to the Okoro family in Onitsha...the other family are insisting that the baby is theirs.
The Imo State command has decided to reolve the case by through a DNA test to ascertain the true parentage of the stolen baby.
